Awards show season. So glitzy, so glamorous—and for the unfortunate few, a truly awkward experience. The stakes are always higher at the Golden Globes.Let’s review the most awkward moments of all time from the Golden Globes.

Christine Lahti’s moment

Year: 1998
What did she win?
Presenter Michael J. Fox called Christine Lahti’s name when she won and an awkward moment followed when she couldn’t be found.

Bette Midler’s moment

Year: 1980
What did she win?
Bette Midler won two awards for her star turn in an acclaimed film.  But it was her awkward, albeit funny comment about her own “globes” that people remember.

Chloe Sevigny’s moment

Year: 2010
What did she win?
Unfortunately, most people don’t remember Chloe Sevigny for her win. Instead, they remember her first shriek and accusatory glare at an usher when she arrived at the microphone.

Elizabeth Taylor’s moment

Year: 2001
Someone thought that having a living legend present the Golden Globe for Best Picture in 2001 was a great idea. Nope.

Whoopi Goldberg’s moment

Year: 1986
What did she win?
Whoopi  Goldberg should have been buzzed-about because of her win for The Color Purple in 1986, but all people wanted to talk about was the color yellow.

Lara Flynn Boyle’s moment

Year: 2003
In the fashion no-no Hall of Fame, the Academy Awards remember Björk’s swan dress, and the Globes remember Lara Flynn Boyle showing up at the 2003 awards.

Year: 1974
What did she win?
After winning for her head-spinning turn in The Exorcist,  Blair became overwhelmed and started shrieking and crying.

When he won his award, Oliver Stone began ranting against the government, and the audience went from cheering him on to booing him off the stage.

Isaac Mizrahi’s moment

 Year: 2006

Before the 2006 Golden Globes telecast, fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi’s signature question for the stars on the red carpet was about the type of undergarments they were wearing. When Scarlett Johansson replied that she was wearing nothing, Mizrahi “checked” to be sure.

Renee Zellweger’s moment

Year: 2000
What did she win?
Renee Zellweger was at the show, but was not present when her name was called when she won.
Where was she?
It was a certain network mogul who got her to the stage in time for the acceptance speech.

Ricky Gervais’ moment

Year: 2010
When Ricky Gervais hosted the Golden Globes in 2010, he did so with his trademark irreverent humor.   But when he made an off-color jab about Paul McCartney’s massive divorce settlement, the camera cut to McCartney—and well, if looks could kill….

The Globes Go Dark

Year: 2008
Unfortunately, the most awkward part of the 2008 Golden Globe Awards was the fact that it wasn’t glamorous at all.

Ving Rhames’ moment

Year: 1998
What did he win?
Arriving at the microphone in tears,Ving Rhames then brought the room to its feet when he did a gracious act.

>Stars looking both Shockingly Off-trend and then Super-Stylish

>

Helena Bonham Carter arrived at the latest Golden Globes ceremony wearing (shock, horror) mismatched shoes! In light of this fashion faux pas, we take a look at a series of catastrophic outfits worn by the stars and ask: did their stylists go awol?
Tut-tut Helena Bonham Carter, a green and a red shoe on this season’s red carpet? Why the Hollywood stylists must be reeling.
Whether Helena is onto a hot new trend here remains to be seen. Meanwhile, we take a look at the stars looking both shockingly off-trend and then super-stylish and ask, could their stylists have gone on holiday during these momentary lapses?

Agyness Deyn: style shame

Agyness Deyn proves even supermodels get it wrong sometimes in this mismatched preppy outfit.

Agyness Deyn: super style

That’s better, gliding down the runway in a fabulous white chiffon number – Agyness’s outfit here is much more flattering.

Alexa Chung: style shame

Good grief, in these disastrous leather shorts Alexa Chung proves the latest trends don’t necessarily suit everyone.

Alexa Chung: super style

Beautiful Alexa looks stylish and chic in a Burberry mac and simple black dress.

Lily Collins: style shame

A boy’s school shirt with a shimmering gold mini? Amber Heard, a good combination this does not make.

Lily Collins: super style

A super-slinky, off-the-shoulder cocktail dress on the other hand, is just the ticket.

Björk: style shame

Never one to be coy on the fashion front, Björk excels herself again in this jacket and dress.

Björk: super style

So much prettier, Björk looks both elegant and feminine in this cream belted dress.

Blake Lively: style shame

Is Blake Lively taking a leaf out of Amber Heard’s style book here? We’re not loving the blue shirt dress and black skirt combo.

Blake Lively: super style

Blake gets it right in a sassy pink satin affair that shows off her feminine frame beautifully.

Claudia Schiffer: style shame

Oh dear, Claudia Schiffer gets caught out looking a little dowdy in this frumpy jumper and mismatched skirt.

That’s more like it! The supermodel we all know and love looks fabulous once more at a Dolce & Gabbana party.

Drew Barrymore: style shame

Cripes, Drew Barrymore blends cowgirl cool with mermaid chic and, alas, doesn’t come up trumps.

Drew Barrymore: super style

Super cool Drew is back on form for the red carpet in this gorgeous gown, worn to Hollywood’s Chinese Theatre.

Eliza Doolittle: style shame

Eliza Doolittle goes all gothic in this sultry affair. She seems to be missing part of her outfit though, namely the bottom half.

Eliza Doolittle: super style

We much prefer Eliza in this low-key and stylish black jumpsuit.

Fearne Cotton: style shame

Fearne Cotton has a Pirates of the Caribbean moment in this stripy floor-length shapeless dress.

Fearne Cotton: super style

But looks fabulous once more for the launch of her brand new clothing line at Very.co.uk.

Gwen Stefani: style shame

As a fashion designer herself, Gwen Stefani likes to be a little cutting edge. This eye-watering combo, however, could be a cut too far.

Gwen Stefani: super style

Thankfully back on the catwalk for her LAMB fashion range, Gwen comes up trumps in a sophisticated suit.

Helena Bonham Carter: style shame

The beautiful and daring Helena Bonham Carter flies in the face of convention at the Golden Globes ceremony and wears mismatched shoes on the red carpet.

Helena Bonham Carter: super style

Here’s our Helen looking rather more elegant (and pregnant) at a film premiere.

Jessica Szohr: style shame

Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr gets it so wrong with too many mismatched items going on in one outfit.

Jessica Szohr: super style

Sexy, simple and sassy, Jessica proves you can’t go wrong with black.

Kate Nash: style shame

Oh dear. Kate Nash hits the beach in ill-fitting shorts, an eye-wateringly bright top and tights (albeit of a fishnet variety).

Kate Nash: super style

Super cool Ms Nash is back on form in a sexy polka-dot blouse and pencil skirt.

Keira Knightley: style shame

Oh dear, far too many textures and clashing colours going on in one outfit here, Keira.

Keira Knightley: super style

This super elegant look is much more fitting for this svelte English rose.

Kelly Osbourne: style shame

Lawks a mercy, is Kelly Obsourne dressing up as Tavi Gevinson here? The hair, the coat, the dress, the shoes, all wrong.

Kelly Osbourne: super style

What a transformation! Kelly steals the show in this cute black dress designed to show off her fabulous hourglass figure. Sexy lady.

Kourtney Kardashian does her best impression of Little Blue Riding Hood but comes a cropper.

Kourtney Kardashian: super style

Looking so much more cute in a 1950s number, Kourtney also proves she knows a good accessory when she sees it.

Amber Heard: style shame

Amber Heard, leopard print and floral are two trends which should never be worn together.

Amber Heard: super style

Phew, Amber scrubs up nicely in a figure-hugging pastel number for the premiere of Salt.

Marina Lambrini Diamandis: style shame

Marina Lambrini Diamandis of Marina and the Diamonds makes a clear-cut case for why black lipstick should never be brought into fashion.

Olivia Palermo: super style

Looking sharp suited and booted is how we know her best. The classic look suits Olivia down to a T.

Paloma Faith: style shame

Hmmm, the oversized trousers, the clashing shirt and hat, this is a difficult one to put right, Paloma Faith.

Paloma Faith: super style

Smart chick: the classic black look shows off Paloma’s red locks and still manages to look edgy without being over-the-top.

Rihanna has a Dorothy moment in her blue ankle socks and ruby red slippers.

>Katie and Alex’s strip club visit

>

Katie Price and Alex Reid celebrated their wedding by heading to a strip club, according to reports.
Instead of enjoying a romantic dinner, they went with friends to the Sapphire Gentleman’s Club in Las Vegas.
The newlyweds then went back to their suite in the hotel Planet Hollywood, the Daily Mirror claims.
Katie, 31, shooed away hotel staff after ordering room service, saying: “It’s time to get cracking on a honeymoon, baby – bring it on!”
A source told the newspaper: “Their strength is they have a real giggle, and that’s why they decided to get tipsy in a strip club. Why wouldn’t they? They didn’t want a pompous wedding and didn’t make their first night a staid one either.
“They returned to their suite for some privacy and a romantic candlelit dinner. Alex has made no secret of the fact he wants a child too, so they are hoping to conceive as quickly as possible.”
Katie, aka Jordan, was given away by two gay friends at a 20-minute ceremony on Tuesday.

>Cameron Diaz bought drugs from Snoop Dogg

Snoop ‘dealt to Diaz’ ?

Cameron Diaz has alleged that rapper Snoop Dogg sold her marijuana when they attended the same high school in California.
Cameron Diaz has claimed she once bought drugs from Snoop Dogg.
The 38-year-old actress – who plays a teacher who smokes marijuana in her upcoming film ‘Bad Teacher’ – is convinced she once purchased the narcotic, known as weed, from the rapper when they were at school together.
She said: ‘We went to high school together; he was a year older than me. He was very tall and skinny and wore lots of ponytails in his hair and I’m pretty sure I got weed from him. I had to have!’
The ‘Green Hornet’ star also confessed that her school days were ‘rough’ and as well as experimenting with drugs she got onto fights.
Cameron told US TV talk show host George Lopez: ‘Anytime you heard the locker slam, you’d turn and there was a girl taking off her earrings, she’s pulling her hair back in a ponytail and she’s taking all her friends’ rings and coming at you.’
”It was like, ‘OK, everybody get back’ and you’d be wondering, ‘Is she coming at me?’
‘I used to get in fights with boys more than girls, for some reason boys liked to fight me. But one time in junior high, I had this girl come up to me in the locker room from behind and pull my hair back. I had to shut her down!’
Snoop Dogg, 39, was previously banned from entering the UK because of his convictions for drugs and firearms offences.
